Cheese and truffles. What could be better? How about adding some wine and good company to the mix … perfect.
For your next get-together, try this baked truffle brie.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole round of brie
- 1-2 black truffles
- Bread (we recommend sourdough)
- Chardonnay
Instructions:
This recipe is simple but needs to be started three days before you plan to eat the results.
First, shave your truffles, then spread them across the brie halves until both are covered. Connect the two halves together, truffle sides touching.
Rewrap the brie in the package it came in. Place it in an airtight container, cover it, and refrigerate for 2-3 days. During this time, the truffle will permeate the cheese.
Before your company arrives, preheat the oven to 80°C. Take the brie out of the container wrap it in, and put it in a small baking dish. Push a small indention into the centre of the cheese. Pour a small amount of your chardonnay into the brie, then bake for 20 minutes.
Add some more truffle shavings and serve with bread and the rest of your chardonnay. Voila!
